Directors & Administration
Moriah Sullivan - Executive Director - Moriah Sullivan chose to volunteer her time with CSB because she LOVES ballet! She also loves the “professional” ballet experience and the opportunities CSB brings to the community. She has a long history with ballet. Moriah started her ballet education in 1976 in Maryland with Frederick School of Classical Ballet and performed with Maryland Regional Ballet. She danced and performed there for 13 years. Then, after a 10-year absence from ballet and moving all over the country, she landed in the Boulder area. She revisited her love for ballet and started taking local and company classes again. Eventually, Moriah moved to Longmont and happened upon Longmont Dance Theatre Academy which later split to become the performance sector and non-profit, Centennial State Ballet. Moriah co-founded CSB along with Kristin Kingsley and has stayed involved for the last 12 years, she is currently the sitting president of the BoD and is also currently serving as Interim Executive Director. She continues to take adult ballet classes, perform in supporting roles for CSB and two of her three sons are actively involved with ballet and currently performing at CSB as well. They love it! The youth company members she has worked with and watched grow over the years she considers her other ‘kids’. “The organization fosters and supports such amazing humans!” Moriah is a successful local business owner in the Longmont community, a mother of three children who have come to love the rewards that go hand-in-hand with performance and ballet, and a true and long-time lover of the performing arts. She currently uses her additional spare time to promote and support the inception of a performing arts complex within the city limits of Longmont as well! Ask her about the details, next time you see her around!
Moriah’s future vision for CSB includes a supporting professional company, to round out the pre pro training and performing for the youth population. A well-rounded company that touches every single piece of the puzzle from Studio to Stage!
Kathryn Rogers, Artistic Director & School Faculty - Kathryn is originally from Illinois and received her training with The Salt Creek Ballet under the directorship of Patricia Sigurdson formally with American Ballet Theatre. Kathryn won a full scholarship for the year-round program at The Kirov Academy of Ballet and finished her junior and senior years of high school training with Alla Sizova and Vladamir Djouloukhadze.
After graduating, she was hired from a video audition with The Colorado Ballet. She performed many soloist and principal roles with the company such as Clara in The Nutcracker, Princess Florine in The Sleeping Beauty, The Cowgirl in Rodeo, Pas de Trois and Little Swan in Swan Lake, stepsister in Cinderella, Lead Baton Girl in Stars and Stripes, Waltz Girl in Serenade, and many other roles. She was in the history-making performance of Martha Graham's Appalachian Spring, the first ballet company to ever perform that creation.
After an early retirement, Kathryn lived on the East Coast finding passions in retail, specialty foods, and worked at Bloch as a pointe shoe fitter. She found her way back west and began teaching ballet and coaching around the Denver area until moving to the mountains limited her ballet school options. She was lucky enough to find Longmont Dance Theatre Academy/Centennial State Ballet in 2020 and has taken on more creative leadership and teaching every year. When Kathryn isn't at the studio, she's hiking mountains, training, and having off-road adventures with her husband Barrett, and their two dogs.
She is so thankful to have found such a unique and supportive ballet school to work with all types of students and share her passion with this art form she has spent her entire life perfecting.
Katherine Codrescu, School Manager & School Faculty - Katherine was born and raised in Boulder Colorado. She started her training at the age of three at Boulder Ballet School. At the age of fourteen, she was accepted into the Vienna State Ballet summer intensive program. She continued training at both Vienna State Ballet and Boulder Ballet until the age of eighteen when she joined the Boulder Ballet Company and became a teacher at the Boulder Ballet School. Katherine danced with the company until March of 2020 when Covid forced most performing arts companies to close their doors.
She continued to work as a freelance artist, guesting with other companies and appearing in projects as well as doing pop-up shows across Colorado and teaching online classes. Katherine rejoined Boulder Ballet for a short season in early 2021 before joining BalletMet in Columbus Ohio for the 2021-2022 season. After an injury late in the season, Katherine made the difficult decision to retire from company life and return to Colorado to finish college. She began teaching at Centennial State Ballet shortly after her return. Katherine has found a new passion in social dances, particularly Latin-style dances, and continues to stay committed to her goal of learning as many styles of dance as she can.
Katherine is excited to continue teaching and now help lead the school to raise the next generations of dancers.
