Company Member fees are capped at 2 performers per family, per performance. There are no additional fees accrued for 3+ performers in a single performance.

Placement Auditions TOP

Placement Auditions provide our Executive Artistic Director, KRISTIN KINGSLEY, an opportunity to observe each dancer’s current strengths and needs. Aspiring company members are appropriately cast in a role that best showcases their personal technique, strength, and artistry.

COVID-19 has necessitated changes to our historical processes. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we need to conduct some placement auditions virtually, restructure our rehearsal process, and transition many of our traditional mainstage performances to a virtual environment. There is no better time to flex and further develop our creativity and expand our reach!

For Season Company Members and Performance Company Members interested in the Fall Showcase, we will not be holding live, in-person auditions. Please submit a video audition during registration. Review the video audition SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Placement & Casting TOP

Every effort is made to cast all eligible company member prospects. Under certain circumstances, Centennial State Ballet may be unable to cast a performer. These circumstances include, but are not necessarily limited to:

    • too many auditionees to physically cast in a performance

    • if, at the time of the placement audition, the dancer is unable to follow CSB’S Code of Conduct *

The placement and casting process typically takes two weeks after placement auditions. Casting notifications will be sent via email. **

Centennial State Ballet placement auditions occur in a friendly and non-competitive atmosphere. There is an art to auditioning, and we believe encouraging and inspiring our performers through this process is of paramount importance. During auditions, participants learn to speak about themselves, pick up choreography quickly, become adaptable, and relax into a culture of community. At auditions, it is important to speak, act, and dance in a way that shows a performer can be versatile, flexible with change, and open to the artistic process.

Rehearsals TOP

Rehearsals are typically held weekdays after 4PM and on weekends. Performers rehearse 1-5 days per week, depending on casting. Rehearsals are typically held at Longmont Dance Theatre Academy until production week. Production week rehearsals and performances are held at the performance venue.

During COVID-19, Centennial State Ballet rehearsals may be conducted virtually and/or in small groups, as Boulder County Public Health’s guidelines allow.

If a dancer misses more than one scheduled rehearsal, their part may be given to their understudy/alternate. More detailed information about rehearsals will be available after the cast list has been published.

Performances TOP

Perform with confidence! We understand that flexibility and your safety are key during this uncertain time; that’s why each performance this season will be produced and performed through video/film, and we hope to be able to create an additional live component for audience members, as well. Once we can perform at a theater, we will; until then, no hopes will be dashed!

Withdrawals TOP

If a performer becomes unable to perform due to injury, illness, or family moving out of the area, company member fees will be refunded on a prorated basis. A dancer who needs to withdraw from the performance for any reason must fill out the WITHDRAWAL FORM. Please review 2020/21 COMPANY MEMBERSHIP & COMPANY MEMBER FEES for additional information.
