Front of House Volunteer Opportunities

 

Ticket Sales

  • Arrive 1.5 hours prior to the performance start time
  • Sell tickets
  • Distribute purchased tickets that are waiting in will-call
  • Once the final guests to the performances have found their seats, you may purchase a ticket and watch the show for yourself.
  • It is recommended that volunteers be familiar with working on a computer, but it is not required.  
  • House Manager will give a tutorial on how to make a door sale and/or ticket purchase.

 

Ushering

  • Arriving 1 hour prior to the performance starttime
  • Passing out programs
  • Checking tickets
  • Helping audience members find their seats
  • Directing patrons to the restrooms and through the lobby area
  • Calming patrons in the event of an emergency or disturbance
  • Contacting the House Manager if there are any problems
  • Cleaning up the auditorium after the show’s conclusion
  • Managing the doors to the auditorium before, during, and after the performances
  • House Manager will give a tutorial on all of this information prior to the start of the show

 

Boutique Liaison

  • Making arrangements to have boutique items brought to the theater
  • Organizing boutique items ahead of performance
  • Arrive 1.5 hours prior to the performance start to set up the boutique
  • Selling boutique items
  • Wrapping and organizing boutique items
  • Taking money and giving change when necessary
  • Passing the boutique table to a CSB supervisor 45 minutes to 1 hour after the show’s conclusion
  • Assisting with tear-down and load-out after the last show

 

Boutique Sales

  • Arrive 1 hour prior to the performance start
  • Setting up the boutique
  • Selling boutique items
  • Wrapping and organizing boutique items
  • Taking money and giving change when necessary
  • Passing the boutique table to a CSB supervisor 45 minutes to 1 hour after the show’s conclusion

 

Flower Liaison

  • Collecting flower orders from the LDTA office prior to the performances
  • Ordering the flowers, picking up and transporting the flowers to the theater on the day of performances
  • Arrive 1.5 hours prior to the performance start
  • Setting up the flower table
  • Selling extra flowers
  • Wrapping and organizing flowers in tissue (removing from the store packaging)
  • Taking money and giving change when necessary
  • Maintaining the order spreadsheet for tracking sales
  • Keeping the table open 45 minutes to 1 hour after the show’s conclusion

 

Flower Sales

  • Arrive 1 hour prior to the performance start
  • Setting up the flower table
  • Selling flowers and passing out pre-orders
  • Wrapping and organizing flowers
  • Taking money and giving change when necessary
  • Maintaining the tally spreadsheet to track sales
  • Keeping the table open 45 minutes to 1 hour after the show’s conclusion

 

Concessions Liaison

  • Purchasing concessions for the production under the direction of the House Manager (CSB will reimburse with receipt) using Costco or Sam’s Club Membership
  • Arrive 1.5 hour prior to the performance start with concessions
  • Setting up the concessions table
  • Selling concessions
  • Taking money and giving change when necessary
  • Keeping the table open 45 minutes to 1 hour after the show’s conclusion
